Detty December Fest
A scalable visual identity and cultural system built to structure Lagos’ December season into a coherent, extensible brand platform.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Detty December is Livespot360’s ambition to formally own and structure Lagos’ December season as a coherent cultural platform.
Beyond a single festival, the project spans music, nightlife, film, and large-scale live experiences across multiple locations. MetaCraft was engaged to develop a visual identity and system capable of translating a city-wide cultural phenomenon into a scalable, recognisable brand ecosystem.
THE PROBLEM
Detty December already existed as a feeling, widely understood and anticipated, but it lacked structure. There was no unifying identity system capable of holding its scale, pace, and complexity. The challenge was not to invent the moment, but to translate it without flattening its energy. The system needed to feel expressive yet controlled, work across multiple sub-brands and formats, and remain legible at extreme physical and digital scale, all within tight December timelines.

METACRAFT"S ROLE & APPROACH
MetaCraft led the development of the Detty December visual identity system and brand architecture, spanning physical environments, campaigns, digital platforms, and future extensions.
The work was approached as a cultural system rather than an event brand, prioritising structure over spectacle and longevity over one-off expression.
An endorsed brand architecture was established to support Detty December Fest and future sub-brands such as Nights, X, and Movies, allowing each to express itself distinctly while reinforcing a unified parent identity. Visual decisions were guided by real-world conditions: crowd density, viewing distance, production speed, and the need for rapid rollout across locations.
Alongside expressive assets, MetaCraft developed operational tools, grids, typography rules, color logic, and icon systems to ensure the identity could be executed consistently by internal teams and external partners. The result was a system designed not only to look cohesive, but to function reliably under pressure.

OUTCOMES & ENABLEMENT
The identity system enabled Detty December to operate as a unified cultural platform rather than a collection of disconnected events. It provided a clear visual framework that supported multiple formats, locations, and sub-brands without fragmentation. Internal teams and partners were able to execute faster and more consistently using shared rules and assets, reducing creative drift during peak production periods.

OUTCOMES & ENABLEMENT
Across physical environments and digital touchpoints, the system ensured recognisability at scale, from large-format stages and signage to social and web platforms. Crucially, the work established a reusable foundation capable of supporting future editions, extensions, and partnerships without requiring reinvention.
WHY IT MATTERS
Detty December represents a shift from moment-driven events to structured cultural platforms within Nigeria’s entertainment landscape. For MetaCraft, the project demonstrates an ability to operate at cultural scale, translating complexity into usable systems that endure beyond a single season. It reflects the studio’s focus on building identities that function in the real world, under pressure, and over time.
